Unit 5: Earth and Space - Space Exploration (22 hours)
Students will develop observational skills outside the laboratory while studying space and their place in the universe. Methods of space exploration and theories on the origins of the universe will be discussed.

Lesson Two;

 -give note on astronomy terms

Lesson Seven;
-evolution of the universe
- the terrestrial planet(EARTH)
-define asteroids, comets, meteors, meteorites
-do p. 526, #1-6

 -The Sun
-introduce “Our Sun and Effect on Earth” *labs due -complete “Greenhouse Effect”
-do “Greenhouse Effect” activity

Lesson Nine;
-evolution of stars
-types of stars
-formation of stars and the universe

-video on gravity and satellites
-discuss satellites
-“Is the Moon a satellite?”
-orbits of satellites
