Meadowvale Instrumental Vocal Arts (MIVA), otherwise known as the Music Department, welcomes you to Meadowvale S.S. !
Aside from the Instrumental Band, Vocal and Guitar courses that are offered to all Gr. 9s at both beginner and experienced levels, MIVA also has a student run MIVA Council. This council organizes and operates concerts, fundraising and fun activities like Band Trips.

The annual MIVA trip is a ski/snowboard trip coupled with Musicfest Regionals in Barrie. In the past, MIVA has traveled to the Rocky Mountains on a 6-day concert tour. Plans for a tour to New York City are still in the works for this year.

MIVA offers as a co-curricular activity Gr. 9 Class Band, Concert Band, Choir,Jazz Band, Jr. Jazz Combo and small ensembles. All ensembles participate in our 2 annual concerts- The Winter Festival Café in December and Spring Music Nite in May

The concert Band and vocal class also perform at Family of School Concerts and at Edenwood and Lisgar P.S. and at various feeder schools.
The Jazz Band has performed at General Electric in Meadowvale and Edenwood Seniors complex.
